Midnight Garden Suite
New Jersey Bedroom Interior Design
Proof that darkness is always dreamlike. Don’t fear it — embrace it.
Designed as the ultimate end-of-day escape, this primary bedroom is wrapped in a “Navy Night” of metallic wallpaper, where shimmering clouds shift and reveal new scenes as the light changes throughout the day. The real showstopper, however, is overhead: a metallic beaded paint ceiling, one of our favorite tricks of the trade, that extends the cloud motif across the “sky” of the room. Blurring the line between wall and ceiling, it reflects light back into the space, creating a luminous canopy that perfectly balances the moody drama unfolding below.
Layered with cozy textures, cool jewel tones, botanical accents, and pieces ranging from a HomeGoods bench to a custom scalloped headboard and sculptural lighting by Julie Neill, this primary suite proves that bold bedroom design can feel every bit as restful as it is dramatic.
Dark and dreamy, but never heavy, this New Jersey bedroom is a reflection of an interior design philosophy that embraces personality over predictability. The goal is not simply to create a beautiful room, but to create a space that feels unmistakably connected to the people who live in it.
For us, the magic is in that balance. Bold enough to make an impression, layered enough to reward a closer look, and comfortable enough to disappear into at the end of the day. That is where expressive interior design becomes more than decoration. It becomes a feeling.
